Workshop Diary - How Are Hours Calculated?

Modified on Thu, 2 Jan at 9:21 AM

The workshop diary in Navigator calculates available hours based on a combination of technician efficiency and branch opening hours.

Key Components of Diary Hour Calculation

1. Technician Efficiency

  • Technician efficiency determines how many hours are added to the diary based on their productivity.
  • Example:
    • A technician with 100% efficiency working an 8-hour day will contribute 8 hours to the diary.
    • A technician with 75% efficiency will contribute 6 hours for the same day.

To review or adjust technician efficiency:

  1. Navigate to Service Managers Toolkit > Update.
  2. Select the technician record to review or modify the efficiency percentage.

2. Opening Hours

  • Branch opening hours define the maximum potential hours available in the diary.
  • These are set under Workshop > Service Parameters > Opening Times.

To set or review opening hours:

  1. Go to Opening Times in Service Parameters.
  2. Adjust the hours as necessary for each day of the week.
  3. Save your changes by clicking Close.

Recalculating Diary Hours

If a new technician has been added, or adjustments have been made to opening times or efficiencies, the diary hours may need to be recalculated.

Steps to Recalculate:

  1. Go to Workshop > Service Parameters > Opening Times.
  2. Tab through the opening hours to confirm them.
  3. Press Close to recalculate and apply changes.
