How to Amend a Factory Option Price but Keep the Vehicle Total Price the Same

Modified on Sat, 21 Jun at 10:33 AM

There may be times when you need to discount or reduce the price of a factory option on a vehicle while keeping the overall vehicle total unchanged. This is commonly done for promotional adjustments, customer goodwill, or internal pricing strategies.

However, simply applying a discount to a factory option will reduce the vehicle's total price. To offset this and maintain the original total, a manual adjustment is required.

How to Discount a Factory Option

  1. Open the Sales Order for the vehicle in question.

  2. Locate the factory option you wish to amend.

  3. Right-click on the option.

  4. Select Discount from the menu.

  5. Enter the discounted value.

    • This will reduce the price of that specific option.

    • Note: The total price of the vehicle will decrease by the same amount.

How to Maintain the Original Vehicle Total

To bring the overall vehicle price back up:

  1. Click on the Total Price field in the Sales Order.

  2. Manually adjust the total price of the vehicle by adding back the same amount you discounted from the factory option.

This ensures the total price of the vehicle remains unchanged, despite the individual option being discounted.
