If a nominal code is not appearing on the Trial Balance (TB), this may be expected behaviour depending on the value held against the code.
How the Trial Balance Handles Zero Values
If a nominal code has a value of zero, it is excluded from the Trial Balance.
Likewise, if a nominal code has no value at all, it will not be shown on the Trial Balance.
This means a nominal code may exist correctly within Navigator but still not appear on the TB if there is no financial value to report.
What to Check
If you expect a nominal code to appear on the Trial Balance:
- Confirm the nominal code exists.
- Check whether there is a balance or transaction value against it.
- If the value is 0.00 or blank, the code will not be displayed on the Trial Balance.
This is standard system behaviour and does not necessarily indicate a fault with the nominal code or the Trial Balance.
