After creating a new marketing campaign in Navigator, you need to define and apply selection criteria to populate the campaign with relevant customer data. This guide explains how to configure selection criteria, set up the campaign details, and start the data population process effectively.
Steps to Pull Data into Your Campaign
Access Selection Criteria:
- After creating your campaign, click on "Edit Selection" to open the selection criteria window.
Choose the Desired Criteria:
- The selection criteria window will display an expandable menu.
- For this example, we’ll select "Date of Creation".
- Single-click on "Date of Creation" to activate it.
Set the Date Range:
- Enter the desired date range for your campaign.
- Example: 01/01/01 to 27/05/24.
- Once the date range is entered, click "Add" to apply this selection.
Configure Campaign Details:
- Before saving the selection criteria, ensure the following:
- Campaign Description: Enter a clear and concise description for your campaign.
- Marketing Methods: Select the desired contact methods (e.g., email, SMS).
- If these fields are left blank, no data will populate in your campaign.
- Before saving the selection criteria, ensure the following:
Save the Selection Criteria:
- Click "Save" to finalise your criteria settings.
Populate the Campaign:
- On the next screen, click "Re-Select" to start populating the campaign.
- Note: Only click this button once, as pressing it multiple times can cause delays.
Wait for Completion Email:
- The system will process your request and send you an email once the data population is complete.
- Processing time varies depending on the amount of data being pulled.
Filter Data (Optional):
- After the campaign has been populated, use the Clean Up button to refine the data further as needed.
Key Notes
- Selection Criteria: Ensure your chosen criteria align with the goals of your campaign.
- Campaign Configuration: Always include a description and select marketing methods before saving; otherwise, the campaign will remain empty.
- Patience During Processing: Depending on the data volume, processing may take some time. Avoid pressing "Re-Select" multiple times to prevent delays.
Scenarios Where This Process is Useful
- Creating targeted marketing campaigns based on specific date ranges or customer attributes.
- Populating campaigns with data for analysis or outreach.
- Refining customer selection to ensure campaign relevance and effectiveness.
